The International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships(MARPOL73/78)
-The MARPOL Convention(The International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships) was adopted by IMO(International Maritime Organization).The Protocol of 1978 relating to the 1973 International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships or in short form”MARPOL73/78” was adopted and updated amendments through the years.The convention includes six Annex for preventing and minimizing from ships accidental and operational causes:
Annex I Regulations for the Prevention of Pollution by Oil
Annex II Regulations for the control of Pollution by Noxious Liquid Substances in Bulk
Annex III Regulations for the Prevention of Pollution by Harmful Substances Carried by Sea in Packaged Form
Annex IV Regulations for the Prevention of Pollution by Sewage from Ships
Annex V Regulations for the Prevention of Pollution by Garbage from Ships
Annex VI Regulations for the Prevention of Air Pollution from Ships |
