Gas
 
Sinokor has purchased a pair of 15 year-old LNG carriers from BP for a price in the low US$ 40 millions each, the vessels are: “BRITISH INNOVATOR” (135,521 cbm, Built Samsung 2003, Kawasaki turbine) and sister vessel “BRITISH MERCHANT” (also 2003.
 
A further BP gas carrier, the LPG vessel “BRITISH COUNCILLOR” (81,605 cbm, Built Mitsubishi 2007, MAN-B&W) has been sold for US$ 44 million to undisclosed buyers.
Small pressurized LPG carrier “GAS EASTERN” (2,511 cbm, Built Miura 1996, B&W) has fetched US$ 1.5 million from Indonesian buyers.
 
Bulkcarriers
                                                   
 
BDI 1143 (1201) – down 58;  BCI 1203 (1479) - down 256.
 
While the indices for the smaller sizes, Panamax, Supra and Handy all reflected some improvement, the hefty drop of 256 points in the Cape index dragged the overall BDI down with it as is often the case. The T/C equivalent for Capes is now US$ 9,600 pd.
 
The Noble Group has sold the Kamsarmax “OCEAN INTEGRITY” (81,499 dwt, Built Guangzhou Longxue 2015, MAN-B&W) to Greek buyers for US$ 24 million.
 
A couple of sales of supramax “DN VATAN” (58,419 dwt, Built 2011 SPP Korea, cranes 4 x 36 tons, MAN-B&W) earlier this year didn’t go through; she has now been concluded for US$ 15 mill to Greek buyers. An older supra, “OCEAN PREFECT” (53,035 dwt, Built Oshima 2003, cranes 4 x 30 tons, MAN-B&W) is sold for US$ 9 million with ss due to Far Eastern buyers.
 
Handy size “NORD SEOUL” (36,781 dwt, Built Hyundai-Vinashin 2011, cranes 4 x 30 tons, MAN-B&W) has obtained US$ 11 million. Greek buyers are paying US$ 7.65 million for the log/bulkcarrier “NORTHERN LIGHT” (28,415 DWT, Built Shimanami 2007, cranes 4 x 30 tons, MAN-B&W).
 
The vintage “TONG XIANG” (47,240 dwt, Built Oshima 1997, cranes 4 x 30 tons, Mitsubishi – ss/dd passed 12/2017) has fetched US$ 5.3 million. “BLUE ANGEL” (44,950 dwt, Built Hakodate 1994, cranes 4 x 25 tons, B&W) went for US$ 4.5 million.
 
Singledecker “KIBELE” (12,235 dwt, Built Shin Kochi 2000, cranes 3 x 30 tons, Mitsubishi) has been sold with dd due for US$ 3.3 million.
 
Containers
 
Ship Finance International has sold the geared “SFL AVON” (1,740 TEU, 23,232 dwt, Built Guangzhou Wenchong 2010, cranes 2 x 40 tons, MAN-B&W) for US$ 12.8 million. Initial reports surmised that MPC Containers were the buyers, other sources are saying CMA CGM.
 
MPC Containers has agreed to purchase the following:
 
“SIMA SADAF” – 1,440 TEU, 20,335 dwt, built Peene-Werft 2007 – US$ 10.1 million
“SIMA SAPPHIRE” – 1,440 TEU, 20,291 dwt, built Peene-Werft 2006 – US$ 9.2 million
“SIMA PERFECT” – 1,223 TEU, 17,281 dwt, built Peene-Werft 2005 – US$ 7.2 million
“SIMA PRESTIGE” – 1,223 TEU, 17,281 dwt, built Peene-Werft 2005 – US$ 7.4 million
“SIMA PRIDE” – 1,223 TEU, 17,266 dwt, built Peene-Werft 2005 – US$ 7.2 million
 
All of the above are gearless except “SIMA PRIDE” which has 2 x 45 ton cranes
NEWBUILDINGS
 
VLCCs – Korea Line has ordered two of 300,000 dwt at Hyundai H.I. for delivery 4Q 2019, price US$ 79.7 million. They are to be employed under a 7 year COA to GS Caltex. KOTC has contracted one of 318,000 dwt at Bohai for delivery late 2020, price also 79.7 million.
 
Product carriers – IMC has declared options at GSI for four 55,000 dwt product/chemical tankers for delivery 2020/2021, price US$ 37.5 million each.
 
LPG – Exmar has gone to Hanjin Cebu for two vessels of 79,500 cbm for 2020 delivery; they are destined for five option five years timecharters to Statoil. Eastern Pacific is ordering two 38,000 cbm LPG carriers at Hyundai Mipo. Price US$ 49 million each, delivery emd 2019 and end 2020.

Stainless “CHEMBULK KINGS POINT” (19,928 dwt, Built Kitanihon 2008, IMO II/III, 12 tanks/pumps, Mitsubishi) is sold to Petrovietnam for US$ 13.7 million. The smaller/older “DL ACE” (10,308 dwt, Built Asakawa 1998, stainless, IMO II/III, 20 tanks, MAN-B&W) has Taiwanese buyers paying US$ 5.75 million.
 
The coated “BREMEN TRADER” (13,185 dwt, Built Ky H.I. 2006, IMO II/III, phenolic epoxy, 12 tanks/pumps, MAN-B&W) has been concluded to buyers in Indonesia for US$ 8 million.
 
 
LPG
 
Korean buyers are paying US$ 15.5 million for “YUHSHO” (76,929 cbm, Built Mitsubishi 1999,  Mitsubishi).
 
Naftomar, Greece is buying “FLAMENGO” (7,389 cbm, Built Murakami 2011, MAN-B&W), price US$ 14.2 million.

A Frontline Kamsarmax, “SEA ACE” (81,755 dwt, Built Guangzhou Longxue 2012, MAN-B&W) has been sold to Greek buyers for US$ 18.5 million.
 
BW Group is booking a healthy capital gain with the sale of “BW DURUM” (61,491 dwt, Built Dalian Cosco 2016, cranes 4 x 30 tons, MAN-B&W) to Navigare for US$ 25 million. BW paid US$ 18.3 million for the vessel in August, 2016. Under the present sale, BW will take the vessel back for 9 months timecharter at about US$ 12,000 per day, presumably to cover an existing commitment.
 
Thai Thoresen has agreed to buy Supramax “MARITIME UNITY” (58,731 dwt, Built Tsunesihi Cebu 2008, cranes 4 x 30 tons, MAN-B&W) for US$ 14 million. “DARYA VISHNU” (56,056 dwt, Built Mitsui 2006, cranes 4 x 30 tons, MAN-B&W) has been concluded at US$ 12.8 million.
 
At an auction in China, local buyers successfully bid US$ 9.3 million (in RMB) to acquire “POLESTAR” (53,452 dwt, Built Imabari 2006, cranes 4 x 30 tons, MAN-B&W).
 

 
Interlink Maritime has sold five modern handies to Ocean Yield ASA against long period bareboat back and with built-in repurchase options after 5 years:
 
– 38,800 dwt, Huatai H.I. 2018,– US$ 18.2 million;
 – 38,743 dwt, Taizhou Kouan 2015  – US$ 15.7 million;
“INTERLINK PRIORITY” – 38,709 dwt, Taizhou Kouan 2015  – US$ 15.7 million;

VLCCs – Daewoo has won orders for five of 300,000 dwt, three for Apollo Asset, Oslo for delivery 2020/2021 and two for Pantheon Tankers, Greece for delivery 2020, price  in both cases US$ 83 million each.
 
LNG – Pantheon Tankers has contracted two 170,000 cbm units, also at Daewoo; price US$ 183.3 million per vessel.
 
Kamsarmax – Yangzijiang has been awarded an order for two of 82,000 dwt by Ocean Longevity, Hong Kong for delivery end 2019. LMZ Greece has declared an option for one vessel of 82,000 dwt, delivery 9/2019. Price for each US$ 25.5 million.
